In 1981, my car broke down in West Palm Beach, leaving me with no choice but to attend the University of Miami in Miami, Florida. There, I settled down, got married, and had two children. I’ve been a Florida resident ever since.
I pursued a degree in film making at UM and worked in television, theater, and as the exhibition designer at the Miami Art Museum, which is now known as the Perez Art Museum.
My most recent professional venture was owning a barbecue restaurant called Sparky’s Roadside Barbecue. It gained significant national attention and recognition, even being featured on several Food Network and Cooking Channel shows. However, the COVID pandemic brought an end to that chapter, and I’m grateful for the blessings that followed.
I relocated to Northern Florida, specifically Jefferson County, a place devoid of stoplights, traffic, and most amenities except for its wonderful, hardworking, and kind people, endless fields, forests, and of course, barbecue. It’s truly a paradise. Thank you for visiting my website.
