Cannabis

A friend had been growing marijuana and invited me to the harvest. Marijuana, Mary Jane, Cannabis, Kush, Kronic or just plain Weed, still illegal federally but now legal in many states became a subject of a photo shoot. The quasi legality of the subject dictated my approach to photographing it. It no longer became about the potency or the high like a High Times magazine centerfold but more about a plant that had gone from society’s demonized, demoralizing villain to a beautiful, medicinal house plant.
